विकास: ( रैखिक / औसत / जटिल) Ambra is a linear fragrance; the aroma really did not change much on my skin.

Note about the packaging: The fragrance is housed in a glass splash bottle with the beautiful gold seal of the Santa Maria Novella pharmacy/perfumery. The bottle is housed in a cream-colored paper box with the gold seal imprinted onto the front. इसके अतिरिक्त, the boxes are all numbered to aid quality control. The bottle and box are quite stylish looking and I think this would make a beautiful gift for bottle collectors.

I'll admit that I'm a sucker for amber fragrances, especially during the autumn season of the Northern Hemisphere – where I live in Finland, cold weather arrives rather quickly. Santa Maria Novella Ambra is perfect for colder weather because the longevity and sillage are so impressive. Although SMN considers Ambra an eau de cologne, I felt that there might actually be a stronger concentration of perfume oils – perhaps it's really an Eau de Parfum? Maybe it was because I sprayed myself 6 times, or maybe it was because of the heat in the room where I was sitting, but this morning I found myself wondering what that amazing smell was…only to realize that it was me!

Wearing Ambra, I felt as if I should be stepping down from a stallion, riding crop in hand, having just returned from the hunt. I'm on my way to the library where my fellow hunters are milling around smoking their sweet pipe tobacco while sipping Scotch in crystal goblets: Ambra definitely has a vintage, old world feel about it. What most sets it apart from other amber aromas is the lack of the sweet vanilla note so often added to amber scents. इसके अतिरिक्त, the birch tar note lends the feeling that both leather and smoke notes are part of the composition.

I'll happily continue to explore amber fragrances, but for now, I think I finally found my very own signature Santa Maria Novella scent.
